The California Highway Patrol will work to keep the roads safe from drunk drivers in Santa Barbara County on New Year's Day.
Officers will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County on Friday, January 1, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Informational signs will advise drivers that a checkpoint is ahead. Motorists will only be stopped for a few moments.
Officers want to remind people never to get behind the wheel if they have been drinking, and to always designate a sober driver.
