Chumash Casino is expanding its liquor license.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department and the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors recently withdrew their protests about where alcohol can be served within the casino.
Both groups changed their minds when the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control did not find evidence that expanding the license would cause more crime or underage drinking.
The casino will be able to serve alcohol during boxing and mixed martial events and in its showroom during dining events.
Chumash Casino will not serve alcohol on the gaming floor.
