Smokers could be at risk for skin cancer.
A review of research suggests cigarette smoking increases the risk for cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas by 52%.
The risk seemed to go down with former smokers.
Doctors say dermatologists and other clinicians may want to pay close attention to smokers to identify skin cancers as early as possible.
