The Santa Maria City Council has approved a liquor license for the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on Blosser Road.
The council approved the license on July 16, but with conditions.
City officials say the store will only be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight.
The store also cannot sell single containers of beer, wine coolers, or malt beverages smaller than 16 oz. unless they are in a pack.
Officials say distilled spirits or liquor must also be displayed in a locked cabinet.
The market is located at 500 Blosser Road and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
