It may not be new but Arroyo Grande celebrated its much improved park with a dedication ceremony Saturday.
The "Village Green Park" is now "Centennial Park" to honor the city's 100th birthday in July. New features include improvements to the gazebo and extension of a creek walk. Officials say a 12-member team has been planning the upgrades for nearly two years.
"So we're very pleased with how it came out, and we're excited about having this new addition to our parks inventory," said Doug Perrin, director of Recreation and Maintenance Services. "It's going to be a lot more functional park with the improvements we've installed."
The Central Coast Celebration Chorus entertained the crowd by singing their official centennial song, "Arroyo Grande, The Place To Be."
