People in Atascadero got a closer look at the proposed Walmart Wednesday.
The city hosted an open house from 10a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Residents saw renderings of the proposed designs and asked questions.
The 123,000 square foot store would be located at the intersection of El Camino Real and Del Rio Road.
It would also have just under 130,000 square feet of commercial space nearby.
Some people have expressed concern about the project's size and location, but city officials say an environmental impact study is underway to address those concerns.
"It'll look at all the issues associated with the project, especially things like traffic, air quality that sort of thing," said Warren Frace, community development director. "That will set a series of recommendations for the city council to consider."
If the project keeps moving forward, the store could open by 2013.
