The City of San Luis Obispo wants to make the area a bit greener.
The City's Public Works' Tree Division says it is now working with the California Urban Forests Council and the International Society of Arborists to sponsor a free tree giveaway.
Residents interested in planting and taking care of a tree on their property can call the City's Urban Forestry Division (805-781-7023) to reserve a free tree. The young trees will be available in October, with a target planting date of October 23, 2010 to plant the trees as part of the United Voices for Healthy Communities Campaign.
