Clarence Minetti dies at age 93

Well-known local businessman and founder of Guadalupe's Far Western Tavern, Clarence Minetti, has died. He was 93 years old.

Dudley Hoffman Mortuary says Minetti passed away Monday night. Friday afternoon, Minetti was involved in a head-on vehicle accident on Brown and Betteravia Roads. The California Highway Patrol says another driver had crossed over double-yellow lines and crashed into Minetti's vehicle head-on. Minetti was taken to Marian Medical Center with injuries.

Minetti bought and restored the Far Western Tavern back in 1958. He had also been very involved with the Santa Maria Elks Lodge # 1538. Friday, Minetti's friends told KSBY News Minetti had always done the best he could for Santa Maria and Guadalupe.

Dudley Hoffman Mortuary says it will handling funeral arrangements for Minetti. However, no specific date or times have been set.
