SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A critic of San Francisco's move to ban public nudity couldn't keep her pants on during a public meeting over the legislation.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a female nudist activist disrobed during public comment Monday at the Board of Supervisors hearing on the ban.

The woman was led from the room by a sheriff's deputy, and was held against a wall for several minutes before agreeing to get dressed.

Ban proposer Supervisor Scott Wiener says the nudity problem has moved beyond a few, sporadic incidents.

Wiener's ban would forbid exposing genitals on sidewalks, streets and public transit - yet street fairs and parades would be exempt.

The supervisors' neighborhood services committee voiced unanimous support; the legislation is scheduled to be voted on Nov. 20 by the full board.
