COACHELLA, Calif. (AP) - All aboard!
The multi-day Coachella music festival is trying out its sea legs.
Tickets go on sale Saturday for two cruises that will be mini versions of the annual multi-day concerts that got their start in the 1980s in Indio, Calif.
The first cruise is headed to the Bahamas on Dec. 16-19. The second sets sail for Jamaica Dec. 19-23.
The trips will feature 22 bands, including the British pop band Pulp, Sleigh Bells, Girl Talk and others.
Fares start at $500 per person and can be booked at http://ss.coachella.com . They do not include airfare to Ft. Lauderdale, a $200 booking fee, taxes and shore excursions.
The cruises will be aboard the 2,886-passenger Celebrity Silhouette.
Next year's land-based Coachella is set for the weekends of April 12 and April 19.
