Coast Guard crews have been searching the ocean for a man, after finding his boat drifting in the waters off the Central Coast.
Crews say they received a "Mayday" call from a cruise ship early Thursday morning. The ship was reporting it found a damaged, unmanned 26 ft. boat drifting about 70 miles northwest of Pt. Conception. Coast Guard crews responded to the area by helicopter and boat to investigate the call, but they say they had negative results from that search.
The sailboat that was found is called "Black Sheep" and is registered to Felix Knauth. But, officials have not confirmed whether they are looking for Knauth as the person who could be missing from the boat.
The Coast Guard says that boat left Monterey Bay on Monday. They say when they found the boat, its sails were up but torn.
The Coast Guard says anyone who could have information about this case, to call them at (510) 437-3701.
