The Coastal Christian girls volleyball team saw its CIF title hopes end in the semifinals on Tuesday. The Conquerors lost in four sets on the road to Pomona Catholic in the Division 5AA semifinals. Coastal Christian lost 22-25, 25-17, 18-24 and 17-25.
Head coach Misty Sano said her players had problems passing the ball consistently, which prevented the team from finding a rhythm offensively. It also led to her team falling behind early in sets.
The team was led by two seniors Leslie Henry and JoAnn Lindstaedt. Henry recorded 15 kills, 6 blocks and 43 digs. Lindstaedt dished out 22 assists in the loss.
The Conquerors, who lost to Coast Union in the finals last season, finished the year 26-2 overall. They went a perfect 12-0 to win the Coast Valley League title outright.
