A cold storm system will bring showers to southwestern California today and tonight. Snow levels may lower to 2000 feet in some locations with many mountain roads affected by accumulating snow. There will be a slight chance of thunderstorms some of which could produce small hail. Gusty west winds will affect much of the area especially near the coast and in the mountains and deserts. Strong winds in the mountains will make for dangerously low wind chill values down to near zero degrees. Gale force winds are
expected across all waters later today. High surf is expected on the Central Coast.
