LOS ANGELES (AP) - A collapse has occurred at a construction on the east side of downtown Los Angeles.
Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott says all workers are believed to have been accounted for following the collapse, which was reported at 8:59 a.m. Friday.
Scott says, however that a department Urban Search and Rescue is on the scene.
The collapse appeared to involve a portion of the structure under construction as well as scaffolding.
The site is adjacent to the west side of the Los Angeles River, near county jails and the downtown transit plaza.
