Community colleges likely to slash enrollment

Students looking to attend a community college next year may have even more trouble finding a seat. California's 112 community colleges may be forced to enroll 400,000 fewer students and cut thousands of classes unless the state's budget improves.

The chancellor said the funding cuts are tragic for students hoping to continue their education and transfer to universities.
