A complaint has been filed against the Santa Maria woman accused of killing a cat in Orcutt last week, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced Monday.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says Nellie Marie Palacios, 43, stabbed and killed a cat at her ex-boyfriend's house in the 4600 block of Hummel Drive in Orcutt the evening of January 2.
Palacios told deputies that it was her cousin's home and the cat attacked her.
Palacios has been charged with cruelty to an animal, which is a felony.
Her arraignment is scheduled for Monday at Santa Maria Superior Court.
