Conquistadores score third-straight CIF semifinal berth with upset win

Sophomore Carley Chatterley scored the only goal of the game in the first half and junior goalie Kiki Miller made eight saves to lead the Cabrillo girls soccer team to 1-0 upset at two-time defending CIF champion St. Margaret's in the Division 5 quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Conquistadores are 15-7-4 and advanced to the semifinals for the third-straight year. Cabrillo ended 2nd seeded St. Margaret's season with a 16-5-4 mark.

Chatterley scored in the 21st minute on a ball assisted by Kelsey Sherry.

After two-straight long road trips to Southern California, the Conquistadores will finally play at home next Tuesday in the semifinals against San Marino, which knocked off Valley Christian in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals.
