Coroner's Office identifies Arroyo Grande man killed in accident in Pasadena

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office says Gerald Owen Hall, 58, of Arroyo Grande, was killed Thursday in a big rig crash on Interstate 210 in Pasadena.

It happened around 12:00 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway. The California Highway Patrol says it was raining at the time.

CHP officers say Hall was driving a 2013 Volvo Tractor truck carrying a trailer.

For unknown reasons, he left the roadway and hit a concrete over-crossing pillar. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The trailer jack knifed, blocking all lanes of the eastbound 210 in that area. Five cars crashed into the trailer, and two people were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office says the crash has been ruled an accident.
