Arroyo Grande City Manager Steve Adams says he expects councilman Ed Arnold will show up for a planned city council meeting tomorrow evening.

Adams says last time he spoke with Arnold, the councilman gave no indication that he planned to be absent, and there's been no request for permission to do so. He says he "assumes Arnold will be there tomorrow night, but there is no way to really know."

Adams also wanted to clarify that the council and its members have no control over whether or not Arnold keeps his seat, because he is an elected official.

Adams says only the public can remove a city council member, or Arnold would have to miss three consecutive meetings.
