Four people were taken to the hospital after a collision involving a wrong way driver on Highway 101 near San Luis Obispo.
CHP officers say it all happened around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, when an elderly woman got on Highway 101 just north of San Luis Bay Drive.
Officers say she was heading north in the southbound lanes, when she collided head-on with a van carrying three people.
The elderly woman was taken to French Hospital with major injuries.
The people in the van were taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. Two of them had moderate injuries, the other was in good condition.
The lanes were blocked for at least a half an hour, but CHP officers say cars were allowed to pass in the center divider.
