A crash early Thursday morning sent one woman to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Firefighters spent ten minutes extricating the 43-year-old woman from her car after she crashed about 50 feet off the side of the road near the Gaviota curve on Highway 101 South just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday. She was treated on scene and then transported to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Traffic slowed in the area while crews cleaned up the crash site. The woman's current condition is not known.
