Local agencies have ended their search for a swimmer that was reported in the waters off of Shell Beach Sunday night.
At about 6:00p.m. Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard received word of a swimmer who was about 400 yards offshore of Shell Beach. The witness who reported the swimmer told officials he or she saw the person enter the water. About three hours later, the scene was turned over to the Pismo Beach Police Department and the U.S. Coast Guard. They decided to hold off on searching the area until the first light of Monday morning. But, crews say they searched the water again Monday morning and decided to end their search at 8:00a.m.
