Crews mopping up fire along Highway 101 near San Luis Obispo

CAL FIRE says they have stopped the progress of a fire burning next to the Southbound 101 freeway by San Luis Bay Drive Saturday.

Eight acres burned in total. Five structures were threatened, but firefighters protected them. Four airtankers, more than a dozen engines, and fire crews from all over the Central Coast fought the flames.

The fire started around 2 p.m. Saturday. Traffic is backed up on the Southbound freeway for miles.
