Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue and aviation teams were able to locate a lost hiker near Gibralter Dam Wednesday afternoon.

They say the 31-year-old San Diego man, who had consumed a large amount of beer, became separated from his friends and family. He decided to sit down and wait for help, but soon fell asleep and did not hear his family calling to him.

A family member sought help at a ranger station. Rescue teams found the lost hiker after making voice contact with him. They were able to reunite him with his family and friends.
