Crews still aren't sure where or how the Santa Maria river overflowed its banks Sunday night in Guadalupe.

At least 15 residents are waking up Monday morning at Guadalupe City Hall, after the breach flooded the 800 block of Pioneer Street.

The water level continues to rise in Guadalupe. The flooding occurred west of Highway 1, past where the Santa Maria Levee ends. Some residents have pushed to extend the levee farther west.
