The Central Coast Crushers, a Northern San Luis Obispo County team made up of 11 and 12-year-olds, qualified for the Triple Crown World Series in Colorado. The tournament is next month, but the team has been busy fundraising so they can go.
The Crushers sold barbeque at Templeton's concert in the park on Wedesnday night. It was their final fundraiser before heading to Colorado. After finishing the season 45-21 and winning a couple of major tournaments, they will face their toughest challenge in August.
In the last four years, several Crushers' teams have qualified for World Series tournaments, but finances have gotten in the way. This years team has held many fundraisers and will be the first to make it to a World Series.
