San Luis Obispo county high school seniors get the chance to grab some cash for college.
Cuesta brings soon-to-be college students and financial experts together in its annual "Cash for College Night," which begins at 5:00p.m. Tuesday. Students taking part will learn how to apply for financial aid and scholarships.
To take part, students need to bring the following items:
-student's Social Security number and driver's license or government-issued ID
-parent's Social Security number (optional)
-parent's federal income tax return or W-2 form from tax year 2008 or 2009
-records of untaxed income, including TANF, veterans benefits, Social Security benefits
-student's W-2 forms, pay records or records of income earned during 2008 or 2009
-bank account records
-records of stocks, bonds or investments
-permanent residency card (if not a US citizen)
-a list of colleges the student is interested in attending
The program begins at 5:00p.m. and lasts until 8:00p.m. Tuesday, in building 3400 of Cuesta College's San Luis Obispo campus.
