Cuesta wins 11th straight

The Cuesta baseball team will take an 11 game winning streak into the playoffs after a 15-7 home victory over Oxnard in the final regular season contest for both teams.

Andrew Nelson earned his 10th win of the season by allowing four runs in five innings. Cuesta had 12 hits led by right fielder Mac Stuart who was 3-4 with 3 runs scored. Andrew Montanari was 2-4 with 3 RBI.

With a 15-5 record in the Western State the Cougars won the conference title by three games over second place Santa Barbara. Overall Cuesta finishes the season 21-15. The Cougars advanced into the post-season for the 18th consecutive year. They will host a first round best-of-3 series on Friday (2 PM) and Saturday (11 AM, 3 PM if needed).

Hancock College finished the season with an 11-10, 13-inning win at Ventura. The Bulldogs complete the season with an 18-18 record overall and 10-10 conference mark.
