Cyclists taking part in the Ride 2 Recovery California Challenge will spend Thursday night in Solvang.
More than 200 bike riders are taking part in the 450-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. They took off from Pismo Beach Thursday morning and made a stop at the American Legion Hall in Orcutt for lunch.
The Ride 2 Recovery helps provide physical and psychological rehabilitation programs for injured veterans.
"To see, you know, these hardened vets, you know, you'll see them tear up and stuff and it's really moving," said Buck Jones, a traumatic brain injury survivor who served in the U.S. Navy. "I mean, the people along the ride are as important as the people on the ride. You know, it's just so heartwarming and it means the world to these guys."
On Friday, the cyclists will head to Ventura.
