Hundred of cyclists are geared up for a ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles and on Wednesday they stopped on the Central Coast.
The Arthritis Foundation Coastal Classic is a 525-mile ride.
The foundation helps raise money for research to find a cure for the disease that affects more than 50 million people.
On Wednesday, the riders stopped at Wally's Bike Shop in San Luis Obispo and enjoyed homemade tamales.
Most of the participants are people who have arthritis or those who are honoring a family member or friend.
"There are actually 300,000 children in the U.S. alone that have arthritis and our riders are actually getting to meet some of these children that are affected by the disease. Often times the mother or father or sister or brother is riding on behalf of them," said Amy Robertson of the Arthritis Foundation.
The riders will camp in Pismo Beach Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, they will ride south and spend the night in Buellton.
