BOSTON (AP) - Weather experts are using terms like "record" and "dangerous" to describe a snowstorm expected to bury parts of the Northeast on Friday and Saturday.

Snow is expected to spread from Pennsylvania into New England, with the heavier accumulations stretching along the I-95 corridor from New York to Boston.

In addition to blizzard conditions, widespread power outages and coastal flooding are also expected.

Travel is expected to be a nightmare in the Northeast through the weekend. Airlines have canceled more than 2,600 flights. Amtrak will end Northeast service Friday afternoon and roads will be treacherous. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says he hopes forecasters are wrong. He says plows and 250,000 tons of salt have been put on standby.
