KSBY-TV 6 news anchor and reporter Carina Corral will leave the San Luis Obispo/Santa Maria/Santa Barbara television station at the end of the year. She has accepted a promotion as a morning anchor at KSEE-TV in Fresno, California.
"Not only has KSBY been so good to me over the years, both professionally and personally, but the Central Coast never ceases to amaze me with its generosity and warmth," she said. "The Central Coast is a place I've been proud to call home. KSBY is a place where I've loved coming to work for nearly nine years, which is why it was such a hard decision to leave."
Carina joined the KSBY team in July 2004 after reporting in Eureka, California. In the last eight years she has served as a reporter, weekend anchor, and in the summer of 2008 was promoted to Daybreak Anchor. Carina has also been heavily invested in her Healthy Living reports, a franchise dedicated to heath stories affecting people on the Central Coast.
"Carina has done an outstanding job serving the viewers of the Central Coast," says News Director Doug Barden. "We understand and respect her decision to advance her career and we'll miss her professionalism and work ethic. She is a wonderful employee and we wish her and her family all the best."
Carina's last day at KSBY will be Friday December 28, 2012. The nationwide search for her replacement is underway. KSBY-TV is owned by Cordillera Communications, a division of Evening Post Publishing.
