There are many events happening around the Central Coast on July 4th celebrating the nation's birthday.
Solvang: The Solvang 4th of July Parade along Mission Drive Highway 246 starts at 11 a.m. This year's parade honors World War II Veterans, who will be riding in four World War II Army Jeeps as Grand Marshall's.
Santa Maria: To start the 2013 Concert in the Park Series, the band Unfinished Business will be performing at the Santa Maria Fairpark. Admission is free and there is food for purchase. That starts at 1 p.m.
Avila Beach: Lot's of events happening in Avila Beach today. From 8-11 a.m, the Avila Beach Civic Association will be holding its annual Pancake Breakfast at the Avila Beach Community Center, 191 San Miguel Street. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 6 years old and under.
The annual 4th of July Doggie Parade will be at 11:30 a.m. All dogs must be registered and checked in between 8-11 a.m in front of the Community Center.
The San Luis Yacht Club will hold a boat parade starting at noon.
