The National Hurricane Center says Debby has weakened to a tropical depression as it continues to move across Florida, bringing flooding to many areas.
The center said early Tuesday evening that Debby was 25 miles north of Cedar Key, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, with higher gusts. It was moving east-northeast at 6 mph.
Forecasters said the center of Debby should cross the northern Florida peninsula during the next 24 hours.
Flooding remains a problem, and tropical storm-force winds are possible over parts of the Gulf coast on Tuesday night.
