Dedication ceremony celebrates a new addition to the Santa Maria Fire Department

The Santa Maria Fire Department held a dedication ceremony Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the new fire station.
Fire Station No. 5 is located in the 1600 block of E. Donovan Road.
This facilities is the first new fire station in the City since the last station opened \back in 2005, and is the only fire station in the City located on the east side of Hwy. 101.
Fire Station No. 5 will work with Fire Station No.3 in the northern section of the City. The two station will now split the calls, decreasing response time and better service for the northern area of the city.
This fire station income will come from Measure U and a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
