Deputies looking for group who allegedly raped and beat UCSB woman

Santa Barbara law enforcement officers are searching for the suspects who allegedly beat and raped a 19-year-old UC Santa Barbara student this weekend.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says it happened sometime between 11:00 p.m. Saturday and 4:00 a.m. Sunday.

The suspects are described as a group of Asian men.

After the attack, the woman was able to return to her home in Isla Vista and tell her roommate and authorities what happened.

She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries and an examination.

Sheriff's Deputies, University of California Police Department Officers and a Sheriff's K9 unit are searching the Isla Vista area and the UC Santa Barbara campus to figure out where the attack occurred. They're looking for more information to help them identify and locate the attackers.

If you have any information about this crime, the Sheriff's Office asks you to call 9-1-1.
