Deputies looking for man who they say fired one shot in Isla Vista Sunday morning

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says they are looking for a man who pulled out a handgun and fired one shot in Isla Vista early Sunday morning.

It happened in the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde Road.

Deputies say multiple witnesses told them that they saw a man walking down the street who began arguing with people who live in a nearby apartment building.

After interviews and an investigation, deputies say the neighbors confirmed that a verbal argument took place with the man.

Deputies say the man then pulled out a chrome semi-automatic handgun, and fired one shot toward the apartment building.

Deputies say they recovered one shell casing from the area, but no injuries were reported, and they are continuing their investigation.

They say they are looking for a Hispanic male between 19 and 22-years-old, 5'6'', and weighs between 150 and 170 pounds.

They say he was wearing blue jeans, a gray UCSB sweatshirt that had blue writing outlined in yellow, and was also wearing an Oakland Raiders hat.

The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information regarding this case to call their office at (805) 681-4100.
