Deputies make arrest in auto burglary investigation

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies have made an arrest as they investigate a string of auto burglaries and thefts that happened in the San Miguel area during the months of July and August.
Deputies arrested Donald Kimble on Sunday. He's accused of using an ATM card that was stolen from a vehicle in North County. Deputies are still looking for several other suspects in that case.
In a separate incident, deputies say they found a stolen purse underneath a trailer at the Casa Blanca Mobile Home Park in San Miguel. Money and other items were still in the purse. That investigation continues.
In a third case, deputies are trying to figure out who owns two wooden sculptures found on a North County street. One is of a bear smoking a pipe. The other is of a curled-up wolf. Deputies aren't sure if the items were thrown away or had fallen out of a vehicle. If you have any information, contact the sheriff's department.
In light of these recent events, deputies are again warning local residents to avoid leaving valuables in unattended vehicles.
