The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department needs the community's help in finding the owner of a gun safe that was found in a creek bed in Paso Robles.

The maroon-colored safe was found open in the area of Penman Sprints and Linne Rd. in late November of 2009. Deputies believe it may not have been reported stolen by its owners. They say it could have been stolen from anywhere on the Central Coast and then transported to the creek area to be emptied of its guns.

The safe measures about 30"x22"x60" tall. It is maroon-colored with gold trim, and has a Cabela's Sporting Goods decal on its front.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 805-549-STOP.
