The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department says it is still trying to figure out what happened off Highway 58 near Red Hill Road early Wednesday morning. That's where a man and woman were found dead in their car, which was on its side in an embankment.

Investigators worked through Wednesday night piecing together the details. They say it doesn't appear the car was involved in a collision and while they have a working theory on what happened, the department is not releasing any more information at this time.

The woman has been identified but deputies are not releasing her name pending family notification. Deputies are also still working to identify the man, and notify his family as well. Autopsies are scheduled for Friday.
