YUCAIPA, Calif. (AP) - A Southern California detective killed in the final standoff with fugitive ex-police officer Christopher Dorner will be mourned and laid to rest.
Organizers say Thursday's funeral for 35-year-old San Bernardino County sheriff's Detective Jeremiah MacKay is expected to begin with a 5-mile-long procession from the mortuary to the San Manuel Amphitheater, an arena that's usually used as a concert venue and holds more than 60,000 people.
MacKay was a husband and father of two who had been with the Sheriff's Department for 15 years and had been a decorated detective since 2006.
Authorities say he became the fourth and final person killed by Dorner on Feb. 12 outside a mountain cabin that would go up in flames after a ferocious shootout. Dorner's remains were found inside.
