Doc Burnstein's pulls plug on store at Santa Maria mall

The owner of Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab has decided not to open its store at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall.
Owner Greg Steinberger says there have been disagreements with the landlord over the terms of the lease as well as problems with the mall's contractors.
He says he has spoken with other tenants who expressed similar concerns. Steinberger says the decision has nothing to do with the unions, but he is looking to open another store on the Central Coast.
The mall declined to comment on the matter.
