Doctors could be responsible for raising their patient's blood pressure.
A new study compared blood pressure readings on 1,000 patients whose measurements were taken by a doctor and a nurse during the same visit.
Recordings taken by a doctor were significantly higher and sometimes lead to unnecessary treatments and medications for hypertension.
Because of this, researchers suggest health care professionals that aren't doctors record blood pressure when treatment is being considered.
