Some tiny pups were racing for that prized trophy on Sunday.
About 70 dogs filled Atascadero lake park for the wiener dog and wiener wannabe races.
It was all part of the 5th annual Dogtoberfest celebration.
The pure bred Dachshunds raced in heats by age and weight, but, if they crossed their assigned lane, they were automatically disqualified.
Organizers say some owners train all year for this event.

The event is a fundraiser for the Heilmann Dog Park.
