A group of cowabunga canines are competing for the title of top surf dog in Southern California this weekend.

The 6th Annual Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition kicks off at Imperial Beach on Saturday. Dozens of dogs from all breeds will brave the breakers while raising money to help buy school supplies for kids in need.

Judges say they'll select the top dog based on how well they ride the board and how good they look doing it.
