Dome wins Big West award after beating nation's 4th ranked player

For the second time this season, Cal Poly senior star Andre Dome wins the Big West Conference Player of the Week Award. The Arroyo Grande High graduate disposed of two nationally ranked players last week, including 4th ranked Matija Pecotic of Princeton.

Dome, who is ranked 30th in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, will rise in next week's poll after a dominant 6-2,6-2 win over Pecotic and a 6-1,6-2 thumping of 92nd ranked Ben Davis of Middle Tennessee State. He is 9-2 this season in singles and 8-1 in doubles.

The Mustangs fell to 67th in the ITA Team Poll this week after falling 4-3 to 56th ranked Princeton and 5-2 to 35th ranked Middle Tennessee State last week.

Dome won the 2012 Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Year and scored three Player of the Week awards.

Cal Poly returns to the courts on Saturday when the Mustangs host Portland at 11 am.
