Downed lines leave thousands without power

Downed power lines near the 500 block of South Oakley left some 2800 people without power. It happened just before 11:30 this morning.

Santa Maria firefighters responded to a small grass fire and shut down the street while PG&E crews removed the hazard and restored power. Within 40 minutes, power was back on for most of the affected areas.
