Nearly thirty athletes from the Central Coast earned spots on Cuesta College's Scholar-Athlete List for Spring sports. It ends an impressive year for Cuesta athletes that saw 49.7% of athletes make the honor roll and earn All-Western State Conference Academic Team status.
Student-athletes had to complete 12 units with a grade point average of at least a 3.0 and be in good standing with their team to earn a spot on the Cuesta Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
The women's swimming and diving team led all spring sports in GPA. They posted a cumulative 3.253 GPA, while the men's swimming and diving ranked second at 3.140, followed by women's track and field at 3.110. Baseball ranked fourth at 2.949, men's basketball came in fifth at 2.910, followed by softball at 2.798, men's track and field at 2.713 and women's basketball at 2.390.

Cuesta swimmer Shelby Kears, an Arroyo Grande High graduate, was one of five Cuesta student-athletes to earn straight A's during the spring semester. The others were Cody Lavalli, Denis Dobkowski-Rylko, Erin Casey and Kristen Brimage.
