Young illegal immigrants on the Central Coast could have a pathway to citizenship if the Dream Act passes. The House passed the bill last night 216 to 198.

The bill grants hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants brought to the United States before the age of 16 a chance to gain legal status if they enroll in college or join the military.

Facing objections from Republicans, Democrats have delayed the vote in the Senate. They're short of the 60 votes needed to advance the measure.

We'll have more on the impacts to local students tonight on KSBY News at 5 and 6.
