People who drink coffee regularly may have a lower risk for the most common form of skin cancer.

Researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital analyzed data collected from more than 100,000 nurses.

They found the more coffee the participant's drank, the lower their risk for basal cell carcinoma.

Coffee consumption has also been linked to a lower risk for diabetes and Parkinson's disease.

Experts say caffeine appears to be the agent lowering the risk for cancer.

They also found other foods high in caffeine, like tea, cola and chocolate, lowered the risk for the skin cancer, while decaf coffee did not.
